What to Wear to Class

In order to prepare students for competitions and further advancement in dance, St. Basil's requests that our students are in comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely. It's also important for the instructors to be able to see posture.

Clothing Dance leotards, tights or bodysuit. Alternatively, black jazz pants and black top. No baggy clothing please - too difficult to correct alignment.

Footwear Red pleated toe ballet slippers or Black or Beige Oxfords

Hair should be tied back (i.e. ponytails or braids) off the face

No jewelry or gum is allowed in the classroom

Clothing Black Sweatpants. No shorts, jeans or cords.  A normal fitting t-shirt, not too baggy - too difficult to correct alignment

Footwear Black dance slippers or Black Oxfords

Hair must be off the face

No jewelry or gum is allowed in the classroom

We do have a swap bin of gently used footwear to help with the replacement of shoes when the children outgrow them. If you are interested in trading in previously worn dance shoes, please contact someone on the board.

For 2020 We have secured a 10% discount at "On Stage" for the year. Check your inbox for a PDF on ULAS letterhead that you will need to bring to the store. Contact Sherri if you can't find yours.
