ULAS is a respected Ukrainian Dance organization within the Edmonton community. To ensure the dancers learn and grow in a positive team environment, ULAS expects that registered dancers attend rehearsals.
Teachers take attendance at the beginning of every class.
All dancers, no matter which level, are expected to attend rehearsals and dress rehearsals of their group. Where circumstances arise that the dancer cannot attend rehearsal, they will be marked as absent by the instructor.
A dancer may miss no more than 4 dance rehearsals within the dance season.
Dancers who miss 5 or more rehearsals will be put on probation.
During probation, the dancer will be pulled from choreography and will not be permitted to perform dances with the rest of their group. That dancer is still welcome to attend rehearsals.
A dancer who is able to positively rectify their attendance and commitment to the group will be taken off probation at the discretion of the Artistic Director.
No refunds will be given to dancers who are put on probation.
It is the responsibility of the dancer and their family to ensure that they keep track of how many classes they have missed. If uncertain, they are encouraged to ask the instructor about their attendance record.
If a discrepancy arises between the dancer and instructor about how many rehearsals have been missed, the attendance sheet of the instructor will be taken as the final tally.
We thank every parent for their punctuality and every student for their dedication to St. Basil's School of Dance.
